Consultation Information

Do I Really Need a Consultation?

You'd be surprised how often I'm asked this question and I always have the same answer, "yes!"  Each and every case is different. A date or other small detail can drastically change the outcome of your case and/or options available to you.  Comparing your situation to a friend or family member is not helpful.   Speaking with an experienced immigration lawyer about your particular situation is critical for a proper case evaluation.

What Happens During A Consultation?

When individuals come to my office, they are usually greeted by our office mascot, Lola.  She is a friendly and curious dog that loves to meet new people. Then, you and I will have a confidential chat about your immigration situation.  Usually, you will only have one question: "Do I qualify for a green card?" This seems like a simple question, but I will ask anywhere from 15-30 questions to provide an accurate answer.

Why Is There a Consultation Fee?

Consultation fees are normal practice and compensate attorneys for their time. More importantly,  you will be given valuable immigration advice.  I have been an immigration lawyer for over 9 years and am considered an expert in my field. I am a Certified Legal Specialist in Immigration Law with the California Bar, which requires lawyers to pass a written examination, demonstrate a high level of experience, fulfill ongoing educational requirements, and provide favorable recommendations from judges and attorneys familiar with their work.  http://www.calbar.ca.gov/Attorneys/Legal-Specialization?QuestionID=272&AFMID=10367

How Do I Prepare for My Consultation?

If you have any immigration related documents, please bring them to the appointment. If you have ever been arrested and/or convicted of a crime, please gather those documents and bring them as well.  If you do not have any documents, that's ok too! I will be prepared to evaluate your options and provide answers.  I look forward to meeting you!

We are located in a beautiful marina in the city of Alameda, California. As you turn onto Ballena Blvd., you will pass a residential neighborhood. After about 0.3 miles, you will notice a marina to your left (Club Nautique) and the San Francisco Bay will be to your right. Once you pass Pier 29 Restaurant on your left, you will approach a roundabout with an anchor and an American flag. Right before the roundabout, there is a big parking lot to your left. You may turn into the lot.  You will see a sign with our office name.
