Thank you for checking in on us!  We are facing one of the biggest pandemics of our generation and many of us are scared and worried about the future.  However, the Law Office of Claribel P. Madueña remains committed to serving the immigrant community and their families.  

Our office will remain open so that we may continue to represent our clients in their immigration cases, but we have implemented new safety procedures to protect our staff, clients, and potential clients.  Please read below: 

1. No in-person meetings:  On March 16, 2020, Alameda County issued a “Shelter-in-Place” order prohibiting non-essential travel and requesting the closure of non-essential businesses.    As a law firm, we are considered essential, but we must do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and will no longer meet with anyone in-person.  

2. Video meetings are encouraged: If you are a potential client and would like to schedule a consultation with the attorney, we would love to meet you over video.  Once the appointment is set, our office will send a Zoom link, which requires no set up and is easy to use.

3. Document Submissions: We encourage you to send your documents via email, fax, or regular mail.  However, if you prefer coming to the office, you may drop your documents in the secure mail slot.  You will not be able to meet with us, but we are available to speak with you by phone.  

4. Working From Home:  We must all do our part to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. As such, both Maria Salinas and Claribel P. Madueña will be working from home as much as possible. Not only will this keep our staff healthy, it will also keep our clients safe.  However, as a law firm, there will be days when we must come to the office (i.e. for a deadline, checking the mail).  As such, only one person is allowed in the office at a time. For example, Maria will come into the office in the morning, and Claribel will be in the office in the afternoon.  

5. Maintain a clean environment: Our office has set strict cleaning guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19: regularly using disinfecting wipes for phones, door knobs, pens, desks, keyboards and any other high traffic surface;  washing hands numerous times a day with warm water and soap; and prohibiting all in-office visits. 

6. Immigration (USCIS, EOIR, NVC) is still accepting applications: Please do not let the Coronavirus stop you from pursuing your immigration case and future goals! While in-person interviews have been cancelled through April 6, 2020, the immigration office remains open for business and continues to process applications.  If you are unsure about your next steps, we encourage you to contact us for your immigration case evaluation.

ACTUALIZACIONES SOBRE COVID-19:

¡Gracias por estar al pendiente de nosotros! Estamos enfrentando una de las más grandes pandemias de nuestra generación y muchos de nosotros tenemos miedo y estamos preocupados sobre el futuro. Sin embargo, la oficina de la abogada Claribel P. Madueña continúa comprometida a servir a la comunidad inmigrante y a sus familias.

Nuestra oficina continuara abierta para que así nosotros logremos continuar representando a nuestros clientes en sus casos de inmigración, pero hemos implementado nuevos procedimientos de seguridad para proteger a nuestro personal, clientes y clientes potenciales. Por favor lea lo siguiente: 

1. No reuniones en persona: En Marzo 16, 2020, el Condado de Alameda emitió una orden “Quedarse en      Casa” prohibiendo los viajes no fundamentales y ordenando el cierre de      negocios no fundamentales. Como un bufet de leyes, nosotros somos      considerados fundamentales, pero nosotros debemos poner de nuestra parte      para prevenir la expansión de COVID-19 y no nos estamos reuniendo con      nadie en persona. 
2. Video de conferencias son recomendados: Si usted es un cliente potencial y le gustaría      programar una consulta con la abogada, a nosotros nos encantaría conocerlo      por video llamada. Una vez que la cita sea programada, nuestra oficina le      enviara un enlace de ZOOM, el cual no requiere programación y es fácil de      usar.

      Si usted es un cliente actual, nosotros felizmente lo atenderemos por video llamada
     también.  Nosotros siempre estamos disponibles por el teléfono (510) 263-8552; por

 3.  Entrega de Documentos: Nosotros le recomendamos que envíe sus documentos      vía
      correo electrónico, fax, o correo regular. Sin embargo, si usted      prefiere venir a la
      oficina, usted puede dejar sus documentos en nuestro      correo de seguridad. Usted
      no podrá reunirse con nosotros, nosotros      estamos disponibles para hablar con
      usted por teléfono.

  4.  Trabajando desde Casa: Todos nosotros debemos poner de nuestra parte      para
       prevenir la expansión del coronavirus. Como tal, Maria Salinas y      Claribel P. Madueña
      estarán trabajando desde casa todo lo posible. No tan      solo esto mantendrá a nuestro
      personal saludable, pero también mantendrá a      nuestros clientes a salvo. Sin
      embargo, como un bufet de leyes, habrá días      que debemos venir a la oficina (i.e. para
      fechas limites, revisar el      correo). Como tal, solo una persona es permitida en la
      oficina a la vez.      Por ejemplo, Maria vendrá a la oficina por la mañana, y Claribel
      vendrá a      la
      oficina por la tarde. 

5. Mantener un ambiente limpio: Nuestra oficina ha establecido estrictos procedimientos      
   de limpieza para prevenir la expansión de COVID-19: regularmente usando      toallas
   desinfectantes para los teléfonos, cerraduras, lapiceros,      escritorios, teclados y
   cualquier otra cosa que usamos a menudo; lavando      las manos constantemente al día
   con agua tibia y jabón; y prohibiendo      todas las visitas a la oficina. 

6. Inmigración (USCIS, EOIR, NVC) están aún      aceptando aplicaciones: ¡Por      favor no
   dejen que el Coronavirus los detenga para continuar con su caso      de inmigración y
   metas a futuro! Mientras las entrevistas en persona han      sido canceladas hasta Abril 7,
   2020, la oficina de inmigración continua      abierta para los negocios y continua con el
   procesamiento de aplicaciones.      Si usted esta inseguro sobre su siguiente paso,
